Sam Allardyce denies FA charge

Sam Allardyce denies a misconduct charge from the Football Association in relation to recent comments that he made.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has denied a charge of misconduct from the Football Association.

The 58-year-old was handed the charge in relation to comments that he made after his side had lost 1-0 to Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford last week.

Allardyce was particularly unhappy with referee Phil Dowd's decision to not award his side a penalty for handball against Man United full-back Rafael da Silva.

Dowd then went on to give United a penalty later in the match for a similar incident involving West Ham youngster Jordan Spence.

Allardyce has now requested a personal hearing, although a date has yet to be set.
