Wolverhampton Wanderers withdraw from Andreas Weimann deal?

Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly withdraw their interest in pushing through a permanent deal for Derby County forward Andreas Weimann.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly decided to cancel a proposed deal for Derby County forward Andreas Weimann.

In January, Weimann moved to Molineux on a loan deal for the remainder of the season and he impressed during his time at the West Midlands outfit.

The Austrian international had been expected to remain at Wolves on a permanent basis but the departure of head coach Paul Lambert - an admirer of Weimann's work-rate - has led to Wolves moving in a different direction, according to the Express & Star.

Wolves had been able to complete the £1.5m transfer of the 25-year-old but the change of manager has resulted in Weimann having to stay put at the iPro Stadium.

Agent Jorge Mendes - who helped Fosun International complete a takeover of the club - is expected to play a leading role in Wolves' business in the transfer market this summer.
