Tom Daley reveals Olympic sacrifices after being called 'fat' by his coach

Tom Daley reveals that he lost over seven kilos in preparation for London 2012 after being called fat by his coach earlier this year.

Great Britain's Tom Daley has revealed that he had to make a number of changes in order to win his Olympic bronze medal.

Daley said that his coach labelled him fat during his preparations for London 2012 earlier this year, a jibe which pushed him to a new level of dedication.

He told BBC Sport: "To see Alexei Evangulov, the national performance director happy now... at the beginning of the year he was telling me I was fat.

"I've lost seven-and-a-half kilos, I've had to make so many changes. Now I can't wait to go and eat what I like."

Evangulov also shared that he had a bet with the Team GB divers that he would shave his head if they won a medal at London 2012.

In his own words, Evangulov "will be bald tomorrow" thanks to a brilliant performance from Daley.
