Tom Daley teams up with Qiu Bo

Tom Daley joins China's Qiu Bo in promoting the sport of diving to youngsters.

Great Britain's Tom Daley performed a synchronised dive with his Chinese counterpart Qiu Bo in Shanghai yesterday afternoon.

The two world champions linked up at an event designed to get school children interested in the sport.

"It has always been my dream to compete in the Olympic Games," said Daley. "I hope that my experience of London 2012 can inspire the next generation in China and around the world to pursue their dream - and never give up.

"I always love coming to China as the people and fans are always so welcoming and such great fun. I'll probably be back several times in 2013 to compete and I can't wait!

"It was great to dive with Qui Bo. He's the one of best divers in the world and it's a privilege to dive with him here in China."

Qui added: "I am very pleased to be able to meet in Shanghai with Daley. Today we are not opponents, but instead working together to promote the Sino-British sports exchanges in Shanghai. I hope this enhances the long friendship between our two peoples."

The duo both claimed medals at the recent Games in London.
