Scottish Premiership roundup: Hearts close gap

Sports Mole rounds up the day's Scottish Premiership action as Hearts go to within three points of leaders Celtic.

Hearts closed the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic to three points with a 2-0 win over Hamilton Academical on Saturday.

Prince Buaben and Arnaud Djoum scored before the half-time interval to give the home side the points at Tynecastle.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen remain a point behind Hearts courtesy of a 2-0 win over Dundee United at Pittodrie.

Goals from Jonny Hayes and Adam Rooney were enough for the home side who move up to 28 points in Scotland's premier division.

Kane Hemmings scored five minutes before full time as Dundee drew 1-1 with Partick Thistle, who had taken the lead through Liam Lindsay inside five minutes.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle recorded a comfortable 3-1 win away to Motherwell.

Greg Tansey netted from the penalty spot before goals from Miles Storey and Iain Vigurs gave the visitors the points with a consolation coming from Louis Moult.

Steven Smith scored inside two minutes for Kilmarnock before goals from Michael O'Halloran and Christopher Kane gave St Jonhstone a 2-1 victory at home.
