New AC Milan signing Keisuke Honda has admitted that it is a "dream" come true to have signed for the Serie A giants and to take the number 10 shirt previously worn by the likes of Ruud Gullit and Manuel Rui Costa.
Honda, who agreed the move nearly a month ago, said that he is looking forward to showing the Milan fans what he could do on the pitch.
"It's been exciting and I'm really happy to be here," he told the club's official website. "I always said that I would play in the Serie A and wear the number 10 shirt.
"I was desperate to come here and play and delighted about the interest in me and I want to thank Adriano Galliani and the club for this transfer. I want to show what I can do on the pitch. My career was destined to be here and my heart was set on Milan."
Honda has played 52 times for Japan since making his debut in 2008.
