Arsene Wenger thinks that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be taken to the European Championships this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is "convinced" that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will receive an England call-up to the European Championships as long as he remains fit.

The Gunners boss has revealed that the 18-year-old needs to be monitored after every Premier League game due to a "little problem".

"Physically we have to monitor him because after every game he can have a little problem," Wenger told the club's official website.

"[It happens] because your skeleton is not completely finished and the bones are not completely developed to absorb the kinds of shocks you get in the Premier League. We have to be cautious about that.

"You cannot take him out of the team, you have to keep him there. They can win you games. Until the end of the season there is no problem and if he continues to play like this I am convinced he will go to Euro 2012."

The former Southampton star has missed out on the chance to impress England interim coach Stuart Pearce against the Netherlands after being snubbed from the 25-man senior squad this week.
