Mathieu Debuchy to undergo scan on ankle injury

Mathieu Debuchy confirms that he will undergo a scan on Monday to reveal the full extent of the ankle injury that he picked up against Manchester City today.

Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy will undergo a scan next week to determine the extent of the injury picked up in his side's 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed after today's game at the Emirates Stadium that Debuchy suffered a "badly sprained ankle", which the France international later confirmed on Twitter.

The summer signing from Newcastle United also declared his intention to make a quick return to the field, saying: "I have to pass a medical exam on Monday. No fracture. Hope to be back asap!"

Debuchy has made six appearances for Arsenal since joining the club.
