Team News: Danny Welbeck, Frank Lampard make debuts

Danny Welbeck and Frank Lampard make their debuts for Arsenal and Manchester City respectively at the Emirates Stadium.

England international Danny Welbeck has been handed his Arsenal debut in this afternoon's clash with champions Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

The striker joined the Gunners on deadline day from Manchester United for £16m and he will lead the home side's attack, with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil offering the support from advanced midfield positions.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard will make his first appearance for the visitors following his loan switch from New York City in the summer.

The former Chelsea midfielder has replaced the injured Yaya Toure, while Jesus Navas and James Milner have also come into the starting lineup.

Elsewhere, Stevan Jovetic has dropped out with a hamstring complaint, which means that Sergio Aguero will start as a lone centre-forward.

Arsenal: Szczesny; Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Flamini, Wilshere; Ramsey, Alexis, Ozil; Welbeck

Man City: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy; Fernandinho, Lampard; Navas, Silva, Milner; Aguero
