Hello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the Premier League between Arsenal and Everton.

As another season of the Premier League draws to a close, most of the important races are done and dusted with Chelsea winning the title and Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland all being relegated. However, there are still three clubs chasing the two remaining Champions League spots and one of them is taking to the pitch in this match at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League for the past 19 seasons but that remarkable run could come to an end this afternoon. First and foremost, Arsene Wenger's team need to beat Everton to have a chance of maintaining their stay at European football's top table but they also require a favour from Middlesbrough, who must gain a positive result at Liverpool if the Gunners are to remain in the hunt.

As far as Everton are concerned, they will finish in seventh position regardless of the result in North London, but that is not to say that Ronald Koeman will want his team to make any less effort. In fact, he will want the Toffees to go out and make a statement ahead of the next campaign. Romelu Lukaku is also chasing the Premier League Golden Boot, so he is sure to want to end the season on a high.

Anyway, without further ado, let's get cracking with the team news, starting with the home side.

Wenger has opted to make two changes to his side for the match at the Emirates. One doesn't come as a surprise, with Laurent Koscielny shaking off an injury to take his place in defence, but Danny Welbeck returning for Olivier Giroud was not necessarily expected with Giroud having scored three goals in his last three games. He features among the substitutes.

As for Everton, Koeman has made just the one alteration, but it is a potentially significant one. Ross Barkley - who could leave the Toffees this summer - is only named on the bench with Enner Valencia coming into the side as his replacement. Barkley has been told to sign a new contract by the end of the weekend or he will be sold. Interesting...

HEAD TO HEAD! This afternoon's fixture represents the 207th time in which these two teams have faced each other in a competitive match, with Arsenal winning 101 times in comparison to 60 victories for Everton. However, the Gunners have been even more dominant over the past 20 meetings, with 12 triumphs and six draws being recorded during that time. Everton have not won in North London for 21 years.

We touched upon the selection of Welbeck over Giroud earlier, and that perhaps needs some explanation. Welbeck has done brilliantly to come back from a serious knee injury in order to make 18 appearances this season, but he only has four goals to his name, which includes one in his last 11. As for Giroud, while he has not always performed this season, he is averaging a goal in the Premier League every 100 minutes, which is a hugely impressive return. It is a big call to leave someone who possesses that strike-rate out of such an important match.

Another huge call is the non-selection of Barkley. Given that he scored the only goal of his team's 1-0 over Watford last time out, it seems pretty clear that Koeman is trying to make a statement. The playmaker has only failed to start five Premier League games all season and with a return of eight goals and five assists, he would normally be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Not many people will expect to see him at Goodison Park next season after this latest development.

Going back to Arsenal and one man who has barely featured over the past few weeks is Theo Walcott. That remains the case this afternoon with the attacker only on the bench and he has only made one start since being critical of the Gunners' attitude in the 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace. To be more precise, he has only played 20 minutes since April 30.

PREDICTION! You never know what you are going to get with Everton. They have given good accounts of themselves at the two Manchester clubs, but been beaten on their travels against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. However, regardless of their performance, we think Arsenal should be too strong this afternoon. Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been on form recently, and we expect the pair to contribute heavily this afternoon. Arsenal to run out 3-1 winners.

It's time for the two teams to make their way out onto the pitch at the Emirates Stadium. As well as updates for this match, we will keep you informed on developments at Anfield.

CHANCE! Arsenal should probably be ahead, even with just three minutes gone. Bellerin's cross into the box found Welbeck but he diverted the ball wide of the target.

LATEST! We should probably keep you up-to-date with the game involving Watford and Manchester City, but it could be really one-sided. Vincent Kompany has given City the lead with a free header.

It had been coming. Bellerin is the man who goes down as the goalscorer but he only got the chance because of Welbeck's shocking miss. The forward missed from close-range after being teed up by Ozil, but Bellerin was on hand to convert for a rare goal. Over to you, Liverpool...

In a further blow to Everton, it now looks increasingly unlikely that Lukaku will win the golden boot. Harry Kane has opened the scoring for Spurs at Hull City, meaning that he now leads by three goals.

Kane adds another to his tally. I will make that the final update on the race for the golden boot. It is done and dusted.

RED CARD! Oh wow. What was Koscielny thinking?! Arsenal's best defence has been sent off for a crude lunge on Valencia. Both Liverpool and Everton will be hugely encouraged.

This is the current state of play at the top of the Premier League. Arsenal are currently heading into the Champions League, but there is a long way to go...

There's not a lot to add to this game at the Emirates but naturally, Arsenal are not showing as much ambition as they were earlier. Everton haven't really looked to take advantage of their man advantage just yet, but Lukaku will fancy his chances against their backline now.

Now Everton start to grow in confidence. Lukaku comes alive in the final third with a cross which misses everyone, while Mirallas has been denied by a comfortable save from Cech. Valencia is getting booed every time he touches the ball, but there is no doubting he was not to blame for Koscielny's dismissal. It is a terrible challenge.

SUBSTITUTION! Interesting from Koeman. On comes Barkley for Davies. The Dutchman has decided to go for it, even at this early stage.

Maybe that is game over, already. Welbeck atones for his absolute shocker of a miss earlier in the game by sending a cross in for Sanchez to score from no more than six yards out. Arsenal are doing their bit at the Emirates. Liverpool aren't at the moment.

This could turn into a stroll in the park for Arsenal. I'm sure Koeman is not impressed with how this game is panning out but his players are not performing to their maximum. Maybe it is a natural reaction to a long season but Arsenal are a goal away from effectively guaranteeing the win, even with 10 men.

Manchester City are now 3-0 up at Watford. They will finish this season in third position. Two games are all but sewn up. All the important action will now come at Anfield when Liverpool are growing frustrated.

CHANCE! Well this would have changed the mood at the Emirates. Both Barkley and Valencia manage to get shots away in the penalty area, but each strike is blocked. They weren't the most convincing of shots anyway.

CHANCE! Everton have been much improved over the last few minutes. Maybe they have been reading scathing reviews of their performance. Lukaku was presented with an opening in the box but he saw his header over the crossbar.

LATEST! Liverpool take the lead against Middlesbrough! Wijnaldum has got the goal. What a time to score...

The half-time whistle goes at the Emirates and while Arsenal hold a 2-0 lead, they are missing out on a Champions League, as it stands. If Middlesbrough do not score a second-half goal at Anfield, Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League. Here is how things stand...

We are back underway at the Emirates. Everton have made a second change at the break, with Gareth Barry being introduced for Gueye.

CHANCES! Arsenal look keen to finish their league season off in style but on this occasion, Robles makes a fine double save to deny both Welbeck and Ozil.

LATEST! That could be Arsenal's race run. Liverpool double their lead over Middlesbrough thanks to a Coutinho free kick.

SUBSTITUTION! Another blow for Arsenal. Paulista looks to have suffered a significant injury here and he is going to be substituted. The Gunners look set to be without both the Brazilian and Koscielny for the FA Cup final.

LATEST! Liverpool net another. Adam Lallana scores on this occasion. The final 30 minutes of the Premier League season will be played out with absolutely nothing to play for.

Game on at the Emirates. A cross from Baines is handled by Holding, and up steps Lukaku to lash the ball past Cech. It should prove pretty irrelevant but the Toffees will fancy this now.

With Liverpool needing to concede three goals to Middlesbrough to let in Arsenal, surely Wenger should be thinking about substituting two of his key men ahead of next weekend? Sanchez should be a certainly, but maybe Holding should come off too. The Gunners need centre-backs to compete with Chelsea.

SUBSTITUTION! Ignore me. I am obviously speaking rubbish. Francois Coquelin for Granit Xhaka is the change Wenger decides to make.

SUBSTITUTION! Final change for Arsenal and maybe I did speak some sense. Off comes Sanchez, with Alex Iwobi being introduced in his place. Another snub to Walcott...

There's not a whole lot else to report on from the Emirates. The changes have disrupted the flow of the game, but Everton still carry a threat. They have had more shots on goal than Arsenal in this match.

CHANCE! Ozil has been good this afternoon without being spectacular, but he should wrap things up for Arsenal here. Ramsey played him through on goal but he was unable to find a way past Robles.

When Everton manage to get the ball into the box, they are causing all kinds of problems for this makeshift backline but for now, Arsenal are surviving. These are important minutes for Mertesacker because he could be needed next week.

SHOT! Valencia has ended this season must better than he started it, but he fails to hit the target with a shot towards the far corner.

SUBSTITUTION! That has proven to be Valencia's last act of the afternoon. Arouna Kone has been brought on for his last appearance in an Everton shirt.

SHOTS! There have been chances at either end but we remain at 2-1. Iwobi squandered a one-on-one chance for Arsenal, instead being denied by Robles, while Barkley sent a long-range strike just off target.

In the first minute of added-on time, Arsenal make it three through a sublime finish from Ramsey, who finds the corner after being teed up by Ozil.

The full-time whistle goes at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal have claimed a 3-1 victory over Everton. However, they will be in the Europa League next season after Liverpool eased to success over Middlesbrough.
