Report: Arsenal to appoint Eddie Howe as manager after Arsene Wenger departure

Arsenal chiefs see Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as a potential successor to Arsene Wenger once the Frenchman leaves the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.

Arsenal have earmarked Eddie Howe as the man to take over at the North London club after current manager Arsene Wenger leaves the role, according to reports.

The 38-year-old is considered one of the brightest young bosses in English football after taking Bournemouth into the Premier League and keeping them safe from relegation in their maiden top-flight season.

According to the Daily Star, Howe's attacking brand of football and adventurous approach is seen as a perfect fit at the Emirates Stadium, while Wenger himself is also rumoured to be a fan of the former Cherries defender.

Wenger has been at Arsenal for 20 years and is entering the final 12 months of his current contract.
