Francis Coquelin has revealed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants him to be the club's midfield enforcer.
The 23-year-old has become a first-team regular in recent months following some impressive displays since he was recalled from his loan stint at Charlton Athletic.
When asked what his role is in the Arsenal team, Coquelin told Ouest France: "To win the ball back, to play the ball forward quickly, I am difficult to muscle off, even if I am not huge.
"After that, I am not really needed in an attacking sense. When you have Sanchez, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck in front of you. I am here to take a weight off the load on those guys there."
Coquelin has made 19 appearances for the Gunners this season.
