Emmanuel Frimpong could return for Arsenal in the club's League Cup third-round clash with Coventry City on Wednesday.

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is expected to start on the bench as the club welcome Coventry City to the Emirates in the third round of the League Cup.

The 20-year-old, who has not played for seven months following a series knee injury, will reportedly figure at some point on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports News.

However, the match has come too soon for Jack Wilshere, who has also returned to training in recent weeks.

Frimpong spent a period of last season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
