Stuart Pearce worried about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Stuart Pearce says that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not playing enough games for Arsenal.

England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce has expressed his concern that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not playing enough for Arsenal.

The winger burst onto the scene in blistering form last season and became an integral part of the Gunners squad during the run-in to the end of the campaign.

However, the 19-year-old has found his appearances limited this season due to summer signings, and this is a worry to Pearce.

"We have to see the emergence of young talent," said Pearce. "You've only got to look at, say, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. A year ago, everything was on an upward spiral and he was playing regularly.

"Now he's not appearing for Arsenal as much as we'd like. We have to make sure he's not just sitting in stands and on benches, but is experiencing 90 minutes of football as much as he possibly can.

"He's got a long career in front of him, but come international games, every time our top talent is not playing, I think to myself we missed a trick there."

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been included in Roy Hodgson's senior squad to face San Marino and Montenegro.
