Patrick Vieira tipped to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal

Arsenal allegedly consider Patrick Vieira as a potential successor to under-fire manager Arsene Wenger.

Patrick Vieira has allegedly been earmarked as a potential replacement for under-fire Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners are considering approaching the Frenchman with a job offer if they chose to call time on his compatriot's 22-year reign at the end of the season, reports the Daily Mail.

Vieira is a former Arsenal player and was a popular figure at the club, winning three Premier League titles and three FA Cups there between 1996 and 2005.

Since calling time on his playing career, the 41-year-old has gained coaching experience and is currently managing Major League Soccer outfit New York City FC.

Wenger has been tipped for dismissal this summer if he fails to guide Arsenal to Europa League glory, with the club due to face Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition.
