Arsene Wenger has claimed that Mathieu Flamini deserves plenty of credit for the role he has played for Arsenal this season.
Flamini rejoined the Gunners on a free transfer last summer and Wenger believes that the midfielder is excelling in doing a job that does not earn as much praise as that executed by the team's more creative players.
"His work rate and his balance gives us better security," the Frenchman told reporters. "He does the work that people don't always see. It's not because people don't see it that it's not important.
"[He provides] that part of important work in the team that stabilises the team and gives them security to express."
Flamini is expected to be involved when Arsenal take on Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
