FA chairman Greg Dyke criticises Arsenal's youth policy

FA chairman Greg Dyke criticises Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for not giving chances to young English footballers.

Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has said that teams like Arsenal are 'blocking' the progress of young English footballers.

The 66-year-old believes that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger's claims that foreign youngsters are better than their English counterparts are adversely affecting the England national team.

"It comes down to two basic arguments, the Arsene Wenger argument which says your boys are just not good enough and the other says they are, but there's a blockage," The Mirror quotes him as saying.

"There clearly is a blockage at certain clubs of getting young boys enough experience to get into the best leagues in the world."

Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League with 59 points from 28 matches.
