Sports Mole rounds up the latest Manchester City transfer news, including an update on their pursuit of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Now that Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of striker Erling Braut Haaland, Pep Guardiola can look to bolster his squad in other areas ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Citizens are understood to be on the lookout for a new centre-midfielder and a left-back, while there could also be a number of major outgoings now that competition for places has intensified at the Etihad Stadium.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news regarding the Premier League champions, including updates on potential departures and their pursuit of midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Manchester City are one of a number of Premier League clubs who are believed to be interested in signing Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips, but the Citizens seem to have made the first move to try to lure the midfielder to the Etihad.

Football Insider claims that the Premier League champions have submitted their first bid for the 26-year-old, who is now regarded by Guardiola as his primary target for the remainder of the summer window.

It is thought that Phillips, who has two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road, could be available for around £50m and he would be open to the prospect of leaving his boyhood club to play at a higher level.

City have allegedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of the England international, as Leeds are on the verge of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca as his replacement.

Man City looking to recoup £200m from player sales

While City are looking to splash the cash on further additions, high-profile players already at the club could soon be heading for the exit door to balance the books.

The Telegraph reports that the Citizens could make as much as £200m from player sales this summer and the money generated will help fund moves for Kalvin Phillips and Brighton & Hove Albion's Marc Cucurella.

Forwards Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling are two established stars who may decide to seek pastures new, with the former seemingly the most likely to leave amid interest from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

Jesus is allegedly valued at around £45m, while it is thought that City would be willing to sell Sterling if an offer of at least £60m was tabled this summer. Both forwards have just a year remaining on their contracts.

The Citizens could also raise funds from the sales of several players who are yet to step up to the first team, including goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who is believed to be edging closer to a permanent move to Southampton for a fee which could rise to £15m.

Man City also have their eyes set on recruiting for the future and they are now believed to be in a strong position to sign a promising defender from the French second tier.

According to the Daily Mail, the Citizens are closing in on the signing of Le Havre's 19-year-old centre-back Isaak Toure and they are set to beat French outfits Marseille and Lyon in the race for his signature.

Toure, who is understood to have already visited City's training complex, would most likely be sent out on loan for the 2022-23 campaign, with sister club Troyes a potential destination.

The 6ft 8in defender made 17 Ligue 2 appearances for Le Havre in 2021-22, and he has also featured six times for the France Under-19s national team.
