Arsenal reportedly prepare to launch a bid for Southampton defender Luke Shaw after watching him play yesterday.

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a bid for Southampton defender Luke Shaw.

The 17-year-old, who has been capped eight times by England at Under-17 level, made his Saints debut in last season's 1-1 draw with Millwall in the FA Cup.

Shaw impressed Gunners scouts with a 20-minute cameo during yesterday's pre-season friendly defeat to Ajax, according to The Mirror.

If Shaw were to join Arsenal, he would follow Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in making the switch from St Mary's to the Emirates Stadium.
