Mikel Arteta has suggested that he is "confident" that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will choose to extend his stay at Arsenal.
With less than a year remaining on his contract, Aubameyang is being heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium during the next transfer window.
However, at a time when the Gunners have improved significantly on the pitch, Arteta feels that the Gabon international is more likely to remain in North London, rather than pursue a move elsewhere.
The Spaniard told Sky Sports News: "I don't know, to put a date right now is very difficult. I like the way the conversations are going, I like what I'm hearing.
"I'm sure for both parties, the quicker we can do it, the better for everyone. I am confident he will extend his stay."
Aubameyang netted a double against Manchester City at the weekend to earn Arsenal a spot in the FA Cup final.
