Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly undergoing a medical ahead of a free transfer to Barcelona.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly undergoing a medical at Barcelona ahead of a free transfer to the Spanish giants on deadline day.

Aubameyang landed in Barcelona earlier on deadline day in order to force through a move to the Catalan outfit, only for talks over a potential loan switch to break down.

However, the two clubs have now agreed a fresh deal for a permanent transfer, which will see the 32-year-old join Barcelona for free.

Aubameyang is expected to join on an initial six-month deal with the option of a further year on top of that, with the medical due to take place tonight and both parties hopeful of completing a deal before the 11pm deadline.

The former Arsenal skipper, who was stripped of the armband and banished from the first-team squad by Mikel Arteta for a disciplinary breach in December, is expected to take a significant pay cut to complete the move to Camp Nou.

Aubameyang has scored seven goals in 15 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this season, but just four of those have come in 14 Premier League games.

In total, the Gabon international played 163 times for the Gunners, scoring 92 goals and creating a further 21.
