Eduardo would welcome Arsenal return

Former Arsenal hitman Eduardo reveals that he would jump at the chance to re-join the Gunners.

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo has revealed that he would be interested in returning to the Gunners at some point in the future.

The Brazil-born Croatia international left the club for Shakhtar Donetsk in 2010 but has recently been linked with a move away from the Donbass Arena.

Despite suffering a career-threatening ankle injury while playing for the club in 2008, Eduardo says that he still holds many fond memories of his time in North London and refused to rule out a return.

He told Il Sussidiario: "I do not know anything about it, other than what I read in the media.

"But of course, who would not like to go to Arsenal? Everybody knows that when I left, everything was done in a friendly manner.

"We are still friends and after leaving I spoke several times with (manager) Arsene Wenger. I still have many friends in London but of course this does not mean that I will come back to Arsenal."

Arsene Wenger is tipped to recruit a centre-forward in the January transfer window, with Theo Walcott expected to miss the rest of the campaign with a knee injury, while Nicklas Bendtner also remains sidelined.
