Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly considering making a January move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly keen to bring in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere during the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old faces an uncertain future at the Emirates, having entered the final year of his current deal with talks over an extension thus far proving unsuccessful.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has yet to start Wilshere in the Premier League this term despite his impressive performances in the Europa League and EFL Cup, while England manager Gareth Southgate has declared that the midfielder will be overlooked for next summer's World Cup unless he gets regular playing time in the top flight.

Wilshere recently insisted that he is happy with Arsenal and is determined to fight for his place but, according to The Telegraph, he is privately contemplating a change in January if his prospects do not improve.

The newspaper claims that ex-England boss Hodgson is "particularly keen to be reunited with Wilshere", having made him a key part of his squad during his Three Lions tenure, and could swoop in January as he looks to keep the Eagles safe in the Premier League.

Other sides thought to be interested in Wilshere's services include fellow top-flight strugglers West Ham United and Swansea City, as well as La Liga outfit Real Betis.
