Loren not worried about Carlos Vela clause

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren is confident that Carlos Vela will not re-join Arsenal.

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren has insisted that he is not worried about the possibility of losing Carlos Vela to Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Mexican international completed a permanent move from the Gunners in the summer after scoring 14 times during a loan spell last campaign.

It is believed that Arsenal can re-sign the forward next summer for as little as £3.5m due to a clause, but Loren is confident that the 24-year-old will remain in Spain.

"No. That clause in his contract is the least of our concerns. We know he is doing very well and we know what he thinks about London and Arsenal. We are very calm," Loren told Mundo Deportivo.

"Would he be persuaded better to stay with a new contract? He has not said that he is unhappy with the contract that he has, rather, he conveys happiness and joy, whilst he is very happy at La Real.

"If we have to compete with other offers, financially, then we have lost the war. It is another thing to make the greatest possible economic effort. And the players see it. We cannot change our standards for them because of other teams, because we will lose that war."

Vela has scored nine times this season.
