Norwich City are ready to cash in on right-back Max Aarons in the summer transfer window following their relegation from the Premier League, according to a report.

Norwich City have made plans to cash in on right-back Max Aarons in the summer transfer window following their relegation from the Premier League, according to a report.

The Canaries had their immediate return to the Championship confirmed following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa and Burnley's 2-1 win at Watford.

The drop out of the top flight was a record-extending sixth relegation from the Premier League for Norwich, who will now look to achieve promotion once again in the 2022-23 campaign.

Ahead of their return to the Championship, manager Dean Smith will look to reshape his squad in the summer, with numerous first-team players set for departure, with The Telegraph reporting that Aarons could well be one of those sold.

The 22-year-old is said to be valued at around £20m, with the report suggesting that Arsenal are leading the race for the full-back, who has previously been linked with moves to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund.

Senior club officials have brushed off interest in the England Under-21s international in the past, but are now said to be open to allowing the academy product to leave Carrow Road.

Meanwhile, those squad members that stay at the relegated club beyond the summer are set to face pay cuts of around 40 to 60% due to clauses inserted into their contracts.
