A report claims that Atletico Madrid ace Thomas Partey, linked with Man City and Arsenal, may stay in the Spanish capital beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Thomas Partey may reportedly stay at Atletico Madrid for another season, despite growing interest from Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old has played in all but four of Atleti's 24 La Liga matches this term, though nine of those appearances have come from the bench.

Thomas, who has been in the Spanish capital since 2012, is said to be unhappy with his number of starts and could angle for a move away in the summer.

Reports in Spain last week claimed that the Ghana international has a £43m release clause in his contract, which has piqued the curiosity of Manchester City.

However, a separate article published by AS questions the level of interest shown by City, Arsenal and some unnamed Italian clubs.

Man City are actively seeking a new holding midfielder to provide competition for Fernandinho, but the report hints that they may look elsewhere.
