Arsenal are in the running to sign central defender Walter Kannemann from Brazilian side Gremio, according to a report.
The Gunners are believed to be scouting across the world for new defensive options ahead of next season, particularly in the centre of their backline.
Kannemann has earned recognition for his performances with a call-up to the Argentina national side this season, and the Daily Mail claims that a number of English clubs are hot on his trail.
Arsenal are said to be among those keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, who has a release clause of around £10.2m inserted into his contract.
Atletico Madrid may rival the North London outfit for Kannemann's signature, however, and they have an advantage as boss Diego Simeone has previously worked with the player at San Lorenzo.
