Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be confident that Theo Walcott will remain at the club after holding talks with the player.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be confident that Theo Walcott will remain at the club after holding talks with the player.

The Mirror reports that the England striker has assured his manager he does not wish to leave the Emirates Stadium and will sign a new contract.

Walcott's future has been the subject of much speculation as the transfer deadline looms, with Manchester City and Liverpool linked with bids.

Arsenal will reportedly turn down all offers for the forward in the hope that he will put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth £75,000 a week.
