Darren Bent on shortlist for Olympic team

Aston Villa frontman Darren Bent is reportedly being considered as one of Stuart Pearce's over-aged players for Team GB football in this summer's Olympics.

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is believed to be on Team GB football coach Stuart Pearce's provisional list for the London Olympics.

The England Under-21s manager is permitted to select three over-age players for his Olympic team, with rumours circulating that former Three Lions captain David Beckham could be included in this summer's Games.

While LA Galaxy midfielder's inclusion has not been confirmed, it is thought that Bent has been targeted by Pearce, according to The Express.

Wales defender James Collins and Scottish full-back Alan Hutton have reportedly been sent letters of consideration from Team GB.
