Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish wants to bring more players into the squad.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has said that he hopes to make more signings during this summer’s transfer window.

The former Birmingham City boss was without new addition Charles N’Zogbia when his side lose 2-0 to Derby at Pride Park last night.

“We need to strengthen,” he told Sky Sports News. “We have still got Charles to come in, and we have got seven players we rested tonight that will come back for the Braga game.

“We know the result [but] at this stage fitness is far more important than results.”

Villa begin their Premier League campaign away at Fulham on Saturday, August 13.
