Christian Abbiati reveals fondness for Atletico Madrid

AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati reveals his fondness for Atletico Madrid.

AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has revealed his fondness for Atletico Madrid ahead of the Champions League last-16 first leg between the two sides on Wednesday.

Abbiati, who spent a season on loan at Atletico in 2007, has claimed that he 'left his heart' in the Spanish capital.

"I left my heart there. It was a fantastic experience both of the field and with the staff and my family was very happy," the 37-year-old told Marca.

"I watch all their games, also because I love La Liga. I hope to find warmth and much care [in the return leg] because I have not forgotten Atleti."

The second leg at the Calderon will take place next month.
