Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone: "We never give up"

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone insists that his team "never give up" after securing their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has lavished praise on both his players and the club's supporters following Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

A double from Antoine Griezmann saw Atletico record a two-goal success in the second leg and secure the capital side's spot in the semi-finals of the European Cup once again.

Simeone has claimed that the club's motto of "never stop believing" was once again apparent in Madrid as they overcame a 2-1 first-leg deficit.

"This team has brought together players who always work hard. I feel joy for them. We can win or lose, but we always believe in our values," Simeone told reporters.

"The motto 'never stop believing' is engrained in the club. We never give up, and we were strong in all aspects of the game. To have seen the response of the fans [after the game] was very nice. I enjoyed it."

Atletico have been joined in the semi-finals by Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
