Spoils shared between Barcelona and Milan

Barcelona and AC Milan play out a 1-1 draw at San Siro in the Champions League evening, with goals from Lionel Messi and Robinho.

AC Milan and Barcelona have played out a 1-1 draw at San Siro in the Champions League this evening.

Brazilian playmaker Robinho opened the scoring for the home side after eight minutes when he played a one-two with compatriot Kaka, before sliding a low effort beyond Victor Valdes.

Gerardo Martino's side got themselves back in it when Lionel Messi, making his first start in over a month, twisted inside the area before calmly dispatching a low effort into the corner.

Philippe Mexes nearly got Milan back in front, but his header was just wide after some deliberation from Valdes in the Barca goal.

The visitors had two chances in quick succession just before the hour mark, but neither Messi nor Neymar could a way past Milan keeper Marco Amelia, after Robinho had allowed a ball to slip through his legs inside the box up the other end, moments earlier.

Adriano also should have scored for Barca with 20 minutes left when Xavi's ball put him through inside the box, but somehow the Brazilian full-back fired wide of the post.
