Andres Iniesta says that he would love to retire at Barcelona and is optimistic of extending his current contract with the Catalan giants.

Andres Iniesta has said that he wants to retire at Barcelona.

The 28-year-old has been with the Catalan giants his entire career, having made his debut for the first team in 2002.

"Finishing here would be very special," Iniesta told Catalunya Radio. "I would love it, it's my dream.

"At the moment we are not talking [about a contract renewal], but I do not understand why it would be very difficult.

"When the club wants you and you want to be there, there is no need to do much talking. My performances will mark how far I get."

Iniesta has won La Liga five times and the Champions League three times with Barcelona.
