Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has said that his club are targeting the treble this season.

The Catalan giants won the La Liga title and Copa del Rey last term, but were forced to watch bitter rivals Real Madrid land their third straight Champions League crown.

Barcelona opened their 2018-19 Champions League challenge with a 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night, and Rakitic has revealed that his side "have a lot of desire" to triumph in Europe once again.

However, the Croatian insists that La Liga and the Copa del Rey are just as important.

"It's special and we know that recent years haven't been the best. We must improve and have a lot of desire. But we also want to do everything possible in the league and in the Copa del Rey," Rakitic told reporters.

Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick while Ousmane Dembele was also on the scoresheet as Barcelona eased past PSV on Tuesday night.
