Barcelona are reportedly planning to offer Lionel Messi a new contract.
Messi last penned a new deal with the Spanish champions in the latter stages of 2017 and as it stands, he is contracted to the club until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu is keen to tie Messi to a new deal which will run until the summer of 2023.
The 31-year-old is enjoying another fine season for his Catalan club, finding the back of the net on 33 occasions in 34 appearances in all competitions.
In total, the Argentine has 585 goals in 671 first-team matches for Barca, winning nine La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey crowns and four Champions League trophies in the process.
Ernesto Valverde's side will be looking to further stretch their lead at the top of La Liga when they host struggling Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening.
