Report: Malaga want Gerardo Martino

A report claims that Malaga will move for current Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino if the Argentine becomes available this summer.

Malaga will reportedly move for current Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino if the Argentine becomes available this summer.

It is believed that Martino was close to accepting the Malaga position last summer, but instead moved to the Camp Nou to take charge of the champions.

Barca are still in with a hope of winning La Liga this season, but disappointment in the Copa del Rey and Champions League has led to suggestions that the Catalan outfit could relieve the former Newell's Old Boys manager of his services.

According to Inside Spanish football, Malaga will once more return for Martino this summer, but West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel is also believed to be an option.

Malaga's current boss Bernd Schuster has made no secret of his desire to return to Germany in recent weeks.
