Juan Roman Riquelme: 'Andres Iniesta still the best'

Andres Iniesta is still the player that makes Barcelona tick ahead of Lionel Messi, according to former Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme.

Former Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme has said that Barcelona's Andres Iniesta 'is still the best player in the world' ahead of both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Riquelme, who represented Barcelona between 2002 and 2005, has accepted that both Messi and Ronaldo 'are faster and score a lot of goals', but has said that Iniesta is still the world's best player.

"Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi score a lot of goals, they do different things to the others because they're faster, but Iniesta is still the best," AS quotes Riquelme as saying.

"Iniesta teaches you how to play with the ball. He does everything you could want to see from the stands. He's the only player that teaches you in every game, no matter whether he plays with Barcelona or Spain. When he doesn't play the team isn't the same."

Iniesta played a key role in Barcelona's 4-0 win over Real Madrid at the weekend.
