Barcelona 'could lose out to Juventus for Memphis Depay'

Juventus could beat Barcelona to the signature of Lyon attacker Memphis Depay, according to a report.

Juventus are reportedly determined to beat Barcelona to the signature of Lyon attacker Memphis Depay.

The Netherlands international came close to joining Barca over the summer, but the move broke down as the Catalan giants could not agree a transfer fee with his French club.

Memphis's contract with Lyon is due to expire next June, and a recent report claimed that he could be available for as little as £4.5m during the January transfer window.

However, it has been suggested that Barca's need to sign a new centre-back could see Ronald Koeman's side miss out on the Dutchman at the start of 2021.

According to La Stampa, Juve have identified the former Manchester United attacker as the ideal signing during the winter window.

Memphis has again been in impressive form for Lyon during the 2020-21 campaign, finding the back of the net on eight occasions in 17 appearances in all competitions.
