Barcelona have reportedly sent Gerard Pique to speak to Matthijs de Ligt in a bid to convince the Ajax captain to join the Spanish champions in this summer's transfer window.
De Ligt's future has been the subject of much speculation over the last couple of months.
At one point, Barca were thought to lead the race for the 19-year-old, although Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are now seemingly the two favourites to land the Netherlands international ahead of the 2019-20 season.
According to Mundo Deportivo, though, Barca have not given up on De Ligt and have asked Pique to talk to the Dutchman as the pair are both on holiday in the Bahamas with their girlfriends.
De Ligt had an excellent 2018-19 campaign with Ajax as the Dutch giants won a league and cup double, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Manchester United and Liverpool have also both been linked with moves for the teenager this summer.
