FIFA president Sepp Blatter insists that the Bundesliga is an example for other leagues across Europe.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has heaped praise on the Bundesliga, claiming that it is an example for other leagues.

The German league's financial structure has meant that fans pay much less for tickets than in other leagues.

On top of that, two German teams reached the Champions League final for the first time last season.

"The clubs are absolutely healthy in terms of finances and there are many big players in the teams, while they are also successful in Europe" Blatter told TZ.

"Generally, the Bundesliga is a role model for other leagues. The way the league is run and the clubs are controlled, I just have to say hatts off to them.

"What Bayern [Munich] achieved last year was simply amazing. It was not only successful football, but it was above all technically beautiful football."

Bayern won the treble last season, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the Champions League final in the process.
