Julen Lopetegui refuses to focus on Bayern Munich injuries

Julen Lopetegui insists that Porto do not receive a boost from Bayern Munich's lengthy injury list ahead of their Champions League quarter-final.

Porto head coach Julen Lopetegui has insisted that an injury-hit Bayern Munich side still represent a big challenge for his players ahead of their Champions League quarter-final.

Pep Guardiola is without Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, David Alaba and a number of other key players for Wednesday's first leg in Portugal, but Lopetegui claims that he is not giving any thought to the lengthy injury list.

"We are here, proud and happy to be playing among the best teams in Europe at this stage of the Champions League," the Spaniard told reporters.

"We want to be the best performers tomorrow while maintaining respect for our opponents. We are talking about one of the best Bayern sides in the club's history.

"Bayern have injuries but will still have seven or eight world champions on the pitch. We don't care about the players they don't have. We have to focus on the ones that will play."

Porto's top scorer Jackson Martinez has proved his fitness to be named in the squad for the first leg.
