How Bayern Munich could line up against Borussia Dortmund

Sports Mole looks at how Bayern Munich could line up in Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern Munich will be looking to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they travel to the leaders Borussia Dortmund on Saturday night.

Bayern were held to a 1-1 draw by Freiburg last weekend, and as a result sit third in the division, four points off leaders Dortmund ahead of the clash.

The German champions will enter this match off the back of a win, however, having beaten AEK Athens 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Bayern could line up for what should be a fascinating affair in Germany's top flight.

POSS BAY XI

Out: Corentin Tolisso (knee), Kingsley Coman (ankle), Thiago (ankle)
Doubtful: Arjen Robben (knee)

Arjen Robben missed Bayern's 2-0 win over AEK Athens on Tuesday night with a knee problem, and the Netherlands international is seen as a big doubt for this game.

Franck Ribery started out wide in the Champions League tie, but the Frenchman is expected to drop out of the starting XI for James Rodriguez, with Serge Gnabry also operating in a wide position for the German champions.

Niklas Sule was not involved against AEK Athens but should return in central defence, with Javi Martinez sitting just ahead of the back four, which should also include Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba.

Thomas Muller could therefore continue in a central position, although head coach Niko Kovac does have the option of putting Kimmich in midfield, and bringing Rafinha back into the right-back spot.

Robert Lewandowski scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season against AEK Athens, and the experienced forward will again lead the Bayern line against the club that he represented between 2010 and 2014.
