Half-Time Report: Arjen Robben strike hands Bayern Munich lead over Stuttgart

Bayern Munich lead Stuttgart at the half-time interval thanks to 40th-minute goal from Arjen Robben.

Arjen Robben's goal has handed Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich a 1-0 lead over Stuttgart at the break.

It was a typically confident start from the visitors as Bayern boss Pep Guardiola watched his side dominate possession for much of the early stages.

Stuttgart's commitment on the back foot frustrated the visitors, who found it difficult to turn pressure into chances due to the amount of players back for the home side.

After soaking up the pressure, Stuttgart came close to taking the lead when Gotoku Sakai led a counter-attack before finishing by curling an effort just past the post.

However, Bayern made the breakthrough just before the interval when Mitchell Weiser slid a pass into the path of Robben, who kept his composure to fire a volley past a helpless Sven Ulreich.
