Juventus 'eye late swoop for Jerome Boateng'

Juventus are eyeing late swoop for Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng, according to a report.

Juventus are reportedly considering a late swoop for Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng.

The Italian champions have been hit with the news that Giorgio Chiellini could miss the next six months of the campaign after picking up a serious knee injury in training.

According to Bild, Maurizio Sarri's side have identified Boateng as a possible replacement, and the Serie A giants are keen to complete a deal before Monday's European transfer deadline.

Last month, it was reported that Bayern would be open to selling Boateng this summer providing that a bid of £22m was received for the experienced Germany international.

The 30-year-old has made 287 appearances for Bayern in all competitions - helping the club win seven league titles, four German Cups and the Champions League.

However, the former Manchester City defender has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena this season following the arrivals of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez.
