Juventus have signed Medhi Benatia from Bayern Munich on an initial loan deal.
The 29-year-old joined Bayern from Roma in 2014, but struggled to settle at the Allianz Arena and has now returned to Italian football for the 2016-17 campaign.
According to a statement on Juve's official website, the defender has joined on loan for the new season, but the Italian champions have the chance to make the move permanent next summer.
The statement also reveals that the Old Lady have paid £2.5m to sign Benatia on loan and it will take £14.3m to make the move permanent in July 2017.
The Moroccan international's future had been the subject of speculation since Bayern signed German centre-back Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.
