New Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has expressed his desire to keep youngsters Nathan Redmond and Jack Butland at the club.

Clark was appointed as the new manager at St. Andrews yesterday, and has already spoken to acting chairman Pater Pannu over the future of the youngsters.

Clark was assured that only "crazy" bids would be accepted for the duo, but the former Huddersfield boss looks consigned to losing Ben Foster, who is in talks with West Bromwich Albion.

"There's been dialogue with WBA over Ben Foster, that's been well known, we can see how that develops over the next few weeks," he told Sky Sports News.

"Nathan Redmond and Jack Butland are two fantastic young players, Peter has already come and said that only 'eye-popping bids' - I mean crazy bids - would be accepted.

"It would take big, big numbers, huge numbers. I'm saying to you now that those lads will be part of the group that starts the season, because they are two fantastic young players."

Clark had been out of work since being sacked by Huddersfield Town last season after just over three years with the newly-promoted Championship club.
