Birmingham boss Lee Clark believes that his side's performance in the 3-2 defeat against Derby sums up their season.

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has described his frustration at his side's inconsistency this season.

The Blues have won five, drawn five and lost eight of their 18 matches so far this campaign, a record that leaves them 19th in the Championship table.

The latest of these defeats saw Birmingham come from behind twice but still lose 3-2 to Derby County, a performance that Clark believes sums up their season.

"I thought our second half performance warranted something but our first-half performance didn't," Clark said.

"It's a good summary of our season really, it's a Jekyll and Hyde performance in one game. It's been like that game to game for us. We've played well in one game and the next it doesn't look the same team but we had it in one game tonight.

"The first half wasn't our true identity but the second half was. I said to the players at the end that if we play like that from the first whistle and don't allow the opposition to get momentum and get on the front foot, we will get a result."

Birmingham's next match comes away to Blackpool on Tuesday night.
