Birmingham City to sign Darren Ambrose

Birmingham City are close to deal that will see Darren Ambrose move to St. Andrews this week.

Birmingham City have agreed a deal that will see Darren Ambrose become the club's fourth summer signing, according to reports.

Sky Sports News understands that the Blues have beaten a host of Championship rivals to the signing of Ambrose from Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old is a key player for Palace but after entering the final year of his contract the Eagles have reluctantly agreed to sell.

Ambrose will join a host of additions brought in by new manager Lee Clark, alongside Peter Lovenkrands, Hayden Mullins and David Lucas.
