David Dunn: 'I'm not ready to finish career'

David Dunn insists that he has no intention of announcing his retirement soon.

David Dunn has revealed that he has no intention of announcing his retirement in the near future.

The 34-year-old is currently unsure where he will be playing football next season, with his Blackburn Rovers contract set to expire this summer, but he has dismissed suggestions that he could call time on his career if he fails to earn a new deal with the club.

"I want to keep playing," Dunn told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I felt my form last season was pretty good so while my body still feels up to playing, I want to focus on that.

"I've done my A licence and coaching is something I'll look to do in the future, but I certainly feel I've still got to offer a lot as a player.

"And if I can play another 20-odd games next season, and my body still feels up to it, I would like to carry on after that."

Dunn fought a knee injury in the last campaign to make 24 appearances for Blackburn.
